DESCRIPTION

Small owl with short ear tufts and yellow eyes and whitish facial disk with a black edged. Grey, brown and red in colour with paler streaked under-parts.

HABITAT

Open woodland, semi-open areas with trees and scrub. Commonly found in parks and gardens.

DISTRIBUTION

South Alaska,West Canada, West and central United States and Mexico. Status - Fairly common.
