DESCRIPTION

Large, greyish owl with no ear tufts and very large facial disk, white eyebrows and small yellow eyes. Generally greyish-brown in Colour, mottled upper parts and streaked paler under parts.

HABITAT

Boreal and coniferous forest.

DISTRIBUTION

Scandinavia,Siberia,Alaska, Canada and North West USA. Status - Not globally threatened, but numbers fluctuate annually.
