DESCRIPTION

Dark brown above with buff spotting, creamy-buff under-parts with heavy dark blotching. Pale buff facial disk, and orange-yellow eyes.

HABITAT

It has an extremely fragmented range, and they are no places where you can see it easily. It prefers mountainous areas with cliffs, outcrops and gorges, and can live as high as 2500m above sea level.

DISTRIBUTION

Widespread, some areas rare, while other areas frequent to common It is found in Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe.
