DESCRIPTION

Large, mostly white owl with black markings, females being more heavily marked than males. Very small ear tufts, often not visible and bright yellow eyes.

HABITAT

Open artic tundra with mosses, lichens and some rocks.

DISTRIBUTION

Circumpolar Greenland, Iceland, Alaska and North Canada and Siberia.
